City Computer
Did you say this was sent on a city email address? The reply is not to a city email address.
Do you think it is possible that somebody at the city sent this out after cutting and pasting the text from an original email onto city address line in order to embarass somebody?
Were any of the addressees on the city server?
I do know from experience that Joyce used to read emails or citizen comments on a form sent to the city system that were not addressed to her, she often read them well in advance of the recipient...so I do believe the system is probably wide open down there. I also know that city workers are reading this now and you know what I mean.

Public records
Obviously anything is possible. The message that was forwarded to me had originated from the Mayor's law office and it had been sent to the City Manager on her City account and to the city engineer who I am not sure who that is exactly because there was no name attached to that. In addition to city employees there were people that apparently work at DSCC and other Federal government facilities on the list.
It is unfair to publish the names of those that the Mayor was soliciting because I am sure they should not be held responsible for something the Mayor did other than telling him their email address. I am told that the City email system does put a disclaimer on any emails that go through its system that the emails are all PUBLIC RECORD. So I would assume that regardless of whether the system received or sent the emails there is a public record of the messages.

TO not FROM
I do not represent PATA and the opinion posted here is strictly mine and not intended to be construed as anyone else?’s.
The message was not sent from a city email account but it was sent TO city email accounts and that?’s just the beginning. He solicited councilmen, city employees, board and commission members and most disturbingly, city contractors. Imagine yourself a city contractor whose contract may be up for renewal. Would you feel obligated to pay this fee to help your chances for renewal? Would you feel that the message in the message is that if you didn?’t pay up then your chances for contract renewal or even any further business with the city was in jeopardy? Would you feel as a councilman that if you didn?’t pay the piper you could end up the victim of mayoral slings and arrows like Wisniewski and Hackworth? Several planning and zoning commission members were solicited. What happens to them if they don?’t pay up?
Would you feel as a school board member or elected official in the township or even the township director of operations that if you didn?’t comply with this request for money that future dealings with the city may be in jeopardy? Would you feel, as a business owner just having completed a nearly half-million dollar deal with the city that the least you could do would be to kick back a few bucks? Would you feel, as an employee of the county and some time contractor to the city, that the city/county relationship was being used for campaign dollars? Would you like, as a presiding county judge, to have your name drawn into this? How would you feel as a state employee whose emails are subject to public records requests if you came into work and saw this request for money in your inbox?
You know the funny part of all this is that this same mayor who has been dragged through the mud repeatedly because of information gleaned through public records requests of his emails actually does two incredibly weird things. First he sends this email to those very people who have haunted him over these issues in the past but forgets rule number one of email. They can go on and be forwarded forever. So the political adversaries who tore him to shreds with earlier emails now have the ability to forward these solicitations to all the other adversaries without even having to wait for a public information request.
It?’s been alleged that there is a hostile work environment in place at city hall propagated by the mayor and condoned by the manager. Then it is alleged that the manager solicited big buck contributions for the Blackwell campaign from city employees and more disturbingly, city contractors. Now the mayor is soliciting money from every person in his email address book including city employees and contractors but also employees of other government entities.
more to come.

TO not FROM
PATA (the organization, not the website) was extremely effective in overturning the government of graft and corruption in 2003. It appears that it is time for them or someone like them to step up again. Fortunately there are lesser numbers of corrupt officials to get rid of now but they have to go. Can?’t we just for once have a government that is interested only in serving the needs of the city and not the needs of their egos and their political cronies?
I can only hope that all these ?“good Republicans?” who received this email can take stock of where their party is going. I used to think that the Democrats were building steam in the county and would soon be a force to be reckoned with. I was wrong. The Republican leaders in this county are handing the government over to the Democrats by supporting the antics of this Republican mayor ad his cronies.
If the officials in the city can?’t hold themselves to a higher standard of integrity and ethics, maybe the Republican Party of Fairfield County can at least make an attempt to appear to be holding themselves to a higher standard by publicly disavowing this Republican regime in Pickerington. It?’s time for them to clearly see who they?’re in bed with.
