Seperate but not equal

Posted in: PATA
Why isn't that enough, Pam?

Pam -

Why must we exclude the football field and concession stands as our reasons to feel the schools are unequal? This are without a doubt the most obvious reasons. North has not one but two 8 lane all weather tracks. Both of which have proper water drainage. Central has one seven lane all weather track with no drainage. Heavy rains in the spring will cause the cancellation of meets.

The football fields at the North facility are immaculate. Last season at Central visiting teams protested the conditions to the point that the Ohio High School Sports officials are ready to make the Tigers play all their games on the road unless some drastic improvements are made. North has so many fields to choice from for all their fall field sports (football, soccer, etc.) Central has one... Tiger Stadium. Unless, of course you feel that it is okay for the Tigers to compete on the practice fields or the band fields.

The school board forced half-assed improvements down the throat of the Tiger athletes and they are supposed to be happy about it?? They know what they have done to Central is wrong but now people like you don't even want us to talk about it.

Field's etc

If the North parents are saying everything is equal and the Central parents are saying it's not - let's just switch the schools. The boundaries are so screwed up anyhow let's just reverse everything - send the North kids to Central and the Central kids to North.

Seems like a fair compromise.

Not my kids

My kids are devoted to Central, its facilities, its staff, its tradition and all the little athletic idiosyncrasies that go with it. I cannot honestly say or try to convince anyone that 5 years or 10 or 20, my kids will look back and say, ''If only we'd have gonce to North, how different our lives may be.''
Which Bandwagon?

Pam,

Didn't you earlier tout a merger between the city and township? Not it appears the city is looking into seceding from the township.

Haven't you tried to look to heal the rifts between north and central? But now it appears there are factions looking for the city to secede from the district.

So many bandwagons - so little time.....
