Seperate but not equal

A few more things.....

You forgot to mention that Central has a larger field house than North with a 4 lane indoor running track. North doesn't have an indoor track.

It also has a nicer commons - layout, tables, size - I am still trying to figure out why they just didn't emulate it. Juniors & Seniors can go there instead of study hall & it's a great set up.

Technology is newer at Central & Ridgeview & provides a better learning enviroment. They used to have 19'' b&w tv's to teach on - now we have projectors with 50'' horizontal picture. That effects every student in those schools everyday. North is using 32'' diagonal televisions hooked to PC's.

How many home football games do we have? 5 or 6?

We go to all the Central games & love them - I do wish there were a few more bathrooms. But I can't say I'm sorry that they spent the money inside classrooms instead of for athletic improvements.

Come on now...

Teach -

You don't really expect us to buy that nonsense about the field house, do you? That field house is used by virtually every school in the district for one thing or another. It's also used for multiple craft and antique shows as well as any other event the city or township wants to roll out. It's a bit far fetched to say that is BELONGS to Central. Besides in terms of athletic facilities it does not even qualify. Go ahead and suggest that Central host an indoor track and field event on a four lane indoor track and see how many teams show up to compete. The workout, training and practice facilities at North are far above and beyond anything at Central (Field House included). You will find no arguement to counter that the athletic facilties at North were designed, built and utilized to be the crown jewel in the PLSD while they knew the facilities at Central were sub-par and they did NOTHING, NADA, ZIP about it.

Frankly I'm glad you pointed out the learning equipment at North being inferior to that of Central. You just proved the point that many have said here all along that the school board wasted millions on a shell of building with nothing inside. A beautiful shell, mind you, but empty none the less.

So North is....

So basically you're saying that North is the Paris Hilton of Pickerington? Looks nice, expensive to maintain, lots of glitter and show but not much going on between the ears.

I like that analogy.
Taking Stock

Let's take stock of what we've heard so far on this one. We all agree that the North footfall stadium has larger stands, superior lavatory facilities and a larger concession stand. The North track has one more lane, which is vital for hosting track meets. North apparently has better weight and training rooms, and a separate soccer field. We all know it has larger parking lots. And, of course, it has a fancy brick facade.

On the other hand, Central has a larger field house with an indoor track and, at least in some respects, superior educational technology. It also has a more usable commons area. Finally, at present, it has a smaller enrollment, which has both pluses and minuses.

Is this it? Is there anything else about either school that is better than, or inferior to, the other school? This is your last chance. I will not ask again.
