Board was split on Monday
I was watching the Board meeting on Monday & there are definately two sides to this issue with the Board of Education.
Reade and Sanders voted against issuing a State Consent form for $65M. Brink, Oakes and Monhollen voted for the issue. Reade thought that $65M was higher than needed even if all three schools were put on the issue.
Taxpayer dollars are not paying for the services of Burges & Burges (levy consultant)- that was a part of the architect contract so Steed Hammond Paul picks up that tab. I'm not sure about the survey - but it is being done by a firm not what we saw on the website.
Brink is the one that wants three schools now, says it will be cheaper to build them now than in the future. Reade stated at the last meeting that she thought operating dollars were a higher priority than a middle school.
Sanders, Monhollen & Oakes will br the ones that make the deciding votes here on the November issue.
