Let that majority vote it out.
At this point, I have not heard of any proposed compromise to rescind this ordinance and the development agreement. As a petition carrier I would be very opposed to seeing the three minority members vote in any way to rescind this ordinance. As much as I would like to see this stupid piece of crap go away I do not trust the majority of this council. I gave those in the majority the benefit of any doubt prior to the final vote. They only stood their ground and passed along to us how very little they actually knew about the issue. They ALL claimed to be delivering on their campaign promises. Clearly they embellished on those promises. In short they didn't understand the issues and they lied to cover their poorly thought out vote.
If the Council President Keith Smith wants to makes this thing go away then get the four majority members to rescind the damn thing first before another word is said.
They had their four votes in August and they simply didn't give a crap what the others in the community had to say or the three minority members on council had to say. They need to atone for this stupid agreement.
We are going to plan for a full campaign to get this charter amendment and the referendum passed. Judging by the voters reactions when they signed I believe passage will be no problem. I am not going to predict the margins but only run like we are 20 points down in the campaign.
