Ready to run with the big dogs?
Other than this web site I would say Mitch O'Brien is not a household name. Even when O'Brien was on council he was not that well known but he ran his campaign like he was.
I normally collect campaign literature but I don't recall receiving any from O'Brien.
I heard one person say after the last election the he wondered if O'Brien had given up. So unless he is willing to do more to get out a real message he might be better served to stay on the porch.
I think he has been so preoccupied with Fix and he losses his message when trying to smack down Fix.
Just some thoughts.

I've worked with Mitch
Mitch doesn't give up. I've seen him stand up.
He's his own man. That's why he got the boot.
He's goal oriented. Given it can be achieved.
He's a realist. Lives in reality, too.
Not well known outside this circle. That's a plus. Association to this council might be a detriment.
Smackdown Fix?
Fix's doing that to himself.
Back to Mitch.
I like him.
Gets up early.
Gets a little cranky when people waste his time at the end of the day.
Good family man. Enjoying time with them now.
I think I'll call him and see if he wants to get an adult beverage.

A little more insight
Since I offered some insight on campaign finance, let me offer a little on campaign strategy. Who do you think made up Mitch?’s campaign staff? Well, let me think ?– him, his wife and his two kids. That?’s it. He did some door to door with Tory Kramer.
You see, everyone thought Mitch was a shoo-in for retaining his seat. Everyone thought that their efforts should be focused on the three others on his slate. Therefore no one showed up to help him. Two supposed helpers suddenly got a lot of family commitments he and she had to attend to. Another helper got too involved in everyone?’s campaign so he got spread too thin to be of use to anyone. So you had this guy virtually alone running the whole thing. Oh, yes, let?’s not forget both his kids were in fall sports and he never missed a game.
So shut your yaps on giving up and staying on porches. I?’d say he fared pretty well for a one-man show. Had he had just one or two more full time helpers instead of Monday morning quarterbacks like all of you, those 5 or 10 votes would have shifted the other way and he would never have let cretins like Smith and Hammond and Gilleland get so far off track that they would sign up to the city?’s suicide pact with the township.
Personally I hope he runs for Mayor. I think he could smoke any competition Fix can put up. But more importantly, I hope that the Monday morning quarterbacks get off your collective behinds and come out to help him campaign.

Watch that first step
So Mitch wants to come off the porch and run with the big dogs. Then you just outlined all of the difficulties he had in ''05''. Am I to take it then that he has assembled a big campaign staff now and he is prepared to run full bore?
We have some raging battles going on right now in the city over first a development agreement and then this issue 9. Just where does Mitch stand on those two issues? I am sure that there are a lot of good family men living within the borders of Pickerington. I am also sure there are people willing to work hard. If they plan to run for public office then we need to know where they stand or are they going to wait until the issue is settled and take on the winning side's position?
