District was Excellent B4 Thiede
This school district didn't get excellent overnight & was excellent long before Bob Thiede jumped on board. While I really liked Dr. Thiede he was not the reason this district was excellent, he may have helped us stay there but we were excellent before he came to Pickerington.
PLSD will continue to be excellent because that's what we want and expect from our schools.
Why on earth would we expect the District to wait until June 30th to bring in someone new & hope they have enough time to not screw up the beginning of the new school year? I for one am happy that Dr. Mantia has started now. All the planning for the next year is occuring now and she can be a part of that and establish new direction. I believe I heard the curriculum/human resource postion was left open so the new superintendent could fill it with their own person. I know as a manager I would always prefer to hire my own people where I can & not walk into a staff I may want to reorganize.
This is how the district will stay excellent, you want transitions to be seamless. Not chaotic.
