...and you may not agree with Mr. Fix, but from my vantage point I see him INVOLVED with council and at least trying to do something and at least trying to cooperatively align members of council to pass legislation.
Am I wrong, but as one poster mentioned earlier what did Mitch accomplish while on coucil? Sure he may have had impeccable attendance and preparation, but what were his accomplishments? The ethics legislation mentioned in his article and by the posting earlier, was Ms. Riggs' from the beginning.
I may not agree with Mr. Fix, but who else on council, and this message board for that matter, is doing anything...except bashing Mr. Fix??
Maybe the building moratorium didn't work as we all thought it should, but who was behind the effort of trying it and getting it passed? This message board says Mr. Fix has accomplished nothing, or very little at the least, but who else on council has put forth more effort to TRY to slow growth (moratorium) and increase a commercial tax base (joint economic development) than Mr. Fix?
I have seen no new ideas in these areas come from Sabbatino, the Wiz, Hackworth, etc. Just telling Jeff he is wrong. I just read the paper, attend the occasional council meeting and read this board. I know I'm going to be crucified by th posters of this board and that's fine. This is just what I observe and am obviously in the vast minority. Let me be torn limb by limb...
