Not thinking

The purpose of city government is to provide services to its residents. Parks are a part of the services city's provide. This pool will be part of the parks program as something that it provides to its citizens.

I don't have to go very far to see the number of recreation centers many of the suburbs around the outer belt provide to their citizens. Much like what many Pickerington residents would like to see here.

I think a pool is a good start.

You may disagree but if Tim Hansley supports this then I know the due diligence has been performed and I'm willing to have a little faith in our new administration.

How does this help?

How does taking an already too small pool with little or no amenities & having the City purchase it create anything new in Pickerington?

This pool was here LY & barely holds 300 people - that's why everyone goes to the Groveport pool or other aquatic centers. Changing it's ownership doesn't do a darn thing for any of the residents.

Heath, Dublin, Westerville & Groveport (probably others) have beautiful pool complexes that are MUCH bigger than the Swim Club & much more dynamic. People from other communities (like ours) will drive there to use their facilities & even purchase memberships.

No one is going to come to Pickerington to go to the Swim Club. You'll have the same membership as you did last year - there's not really room for any more...

Your right, your not thinking

Provide government services.
Sewer.
Water.
Roads.
Soon we'll be providing goverment bowling.

In that case

Let's close the parks, shutdown the parks and rec programs, fire the employees and sell the parkland and build some more freaking strip malls.

I say we start with the park land behind Stonebridge! What do you think about that LIB?

Maybe a nice stop and rob backing up to the homes where the parks stood.

Then we can build us another nice water treatment plant so we can provide JUST THE ABSOLUTE MINIMUM SERVICES to our residents!
