One person absent
Since I attended the meeting I can report that one council person was not there, Mr. Sabatino, he let them know that he was ill and could not attend the meeting, so his vote was not cast.
It is far easier to throw stones on this site then to become involved personally. When this site was started, intelligent discussions were the rule on the discussion area, and now on occasion, they still occur.The name calling etc that usually rules now, makes most former and current serious posters to the discussion area very sad.
The debate about the pool was needed. In my view, what has changed is that we have become complacent. In the past some of the debate on this site prompted people to become involved, they lent their voice to the community via this site and in other forums, found they had supporters, some even got elected and did positive things. Some still serve, some do not serve anymore, but stay involved to inform and that is appreciated.
As an eternal optimist, I would say people are just choosing their battles, also being a realist, maybe not. I hope my first inclination is the correct one and I pray we can return to a stimulating, clean debate of issues on this site.
