Change is coming

There you go again!

Mark,

You are always telling people to do their homework. You claim Woodstream developmentis not on the PATA WEB pages. Try the very first one and it was called Manchester Ridge. The density is listed at 1.92 per acre. Did you pick up a digit somewhere? Maybe these government officials that you are cozy with need to do a little more research before turing you lose on the issue. Maybe you should list their names so that we can find out who is slamming PATA in your name.

*Manchester Ridge),(will be renamed
Originally the Wayne Smith farm) - 1.96 per acre
(Edwards Land Company)
*Property is in rezoning once again to allow 25 additional empty nester single family homes on 70?’ lots. The empty nester section will exist as a gated community, with lawncare and maintenance included, at the front portion of the property. A citizens Committee recently negotiated with the developer to allow this empty nester portion as the only change to this
development. He originally wanted to make most all lots 70?’ wide from the original 90?’ to 100?’ lots. His justification was that the Sycamore Creek project, across the street, was more dense and that Pickerington would allow him more density if he annexed instead of developing in the township. We convinced him that it was in his best interest to remain in the township and lessen the impact on the schools with a lower density figure than his proposed plan and in return we would support increased density in the empty nester portion alone since it would lessen the impact on the schools and yet provide him with a bigger return on the land. The final hearing is rescheduled for June 21st at 7:30 p.m. at the Township Hall ?…7/12/00 update, rezoning passed at the final hearing

They renamed the project ecause there was already a Manchester in Pickerington.

How Many Acres & How Many Homes

With much interest, I noted the 1.92 homes per acre for Manchester Ridge in the first part of your posting and then 1.96 in the second part of your posting. Which is it? Did YOU pick up a digit somewhere?

Who are you and who is the source of 1.92 or 1.96 homes per acre? Are you a township official? Are you an elected offical? Are you a zoning official? Why were you afraid to sign your name to the posting?

Again, I will repeat the need for accurate information on housing density in our community. It would be helpful if PATA would put on their home page a list of all subdivisions, their total acres, total number of homes, housing density per acre, and unit responsible for zoning.

How many acres are in Woodsteam? How many homes are permitted in Woodstream? What is the housing per acre and who was responsible for zoning? It really is that simple.

Let's not rely on public relations information from home builders, developers, or government officials responsible for zoning.
Do something for a change

Mark:

Can you possibly stay on task for more than two minutes before (1) repeating you incessant demands for people's identities and (2) nitpicking the township over whether it is 1.96 units or 1.92 units for acres. This is typical of you. You start a conversation trying to appear reasonable and once a dialogue begins then completely diverge off into thoughtless toadyism.

First, why do you care what our names are. Few of us reveal are names because we are well aware of the intimidation practiced by the city bullies. Ask anyone who has recieved harassing telephone calls from your favorite politicians or had thier child's activities in school effected by His Honor after they have dared speak out against the city. Moreover, anonymous political discourse is a well respected tradition. Have you ever heard of the Federalist papers, which were all originally published under pseudonyms.
If you are truly interested in slowing down growth show up to the next city council meeting and speak agaisnt the proposed condominiums on the Monnebrake property. Go to the next township meeting and tell them that you want them to do something to slow down growth (or maybe you think thier only legimitate role is to assis you in imposing your own aesthestics on your subdivision). Write an open letter to your friend Daryl Berry begging him to stop his plans for future condos and having the city use our tax dollars to subsidize his developments. How about asking the township and city to devlop a park district so that some of our woods and fields can be preserved.

Never mind. You are not going to do any of these things. Until you do soemthing to slow growth, however, leave the rest of us alone.

Anonymous Political Discourse

I disagree that 'anonymous political discourse' in 21st Century America 'is a well respected tradition.' Freedom of speech is.

I suggest you take a political science course or two.

In the case of our community, anonymous political writings slow down change. When real citizens take action, change can happen quickly.

Why do you think respected new sources like daily newspapers require signatures on letter to the editors and verify the writer?
