Pickerington Area Taxpayers Alliance

Planned actions by the CBR

Realtors should like this one

Gee, if the demand is there and there are fewer homes to fill the demand, my home will be worth more, my realtor would get a higher commission on the sale of my home. My home will not have to compete with all the new builds in a similar price range.

Does this man work for the CBR or does he work for the BIA. Last time I looked, most realtors are in the business for resale homes, not new builds. I think his words and actions of the CBR executives are going to hurt local realtors. Did these people even talk to local realtors about what they think.

If I was a betting man, I'd say the local realtors are none too happy about the degradation of our schools, their number one selling point, now we are looking at OUR SCHOOLS BEING ''TOAST'' according to some board members, if the levy does not pass. These realtors don't sell Toast do they, they sell the 26 of 26 State Standards, championship band and sports teams, rigorous academic. Now these are toast or soon will be.

If I was a local realtor, I would actively pursue removal of these people from their positions. They are inflaming the community sentiment towards realtors by saying that everything else but uncontrolled building is the problem here. They even have the nerve to say more buildin is part of the solution to the problem! Most local realtors live here, unlike these CBR pundits, they know the score and right now the score is not going in their favor, and it is going to get worse. WE are their customers too, they do not need these know all city statistic regurgitators representing their industry.

CBR execs.... go to work for the BIA, or better yet become employees of the city manager, who seems to be allowed to work for herself and the BIA interests and not the taxpayers. All your statistics are right from her conference call, they are wrong when viewed in context of the true real estate market here and the city of Pickerington is not the only market in the Pickerington area.
This is complete BS

Limit the potential buyers in the market, hurt resale value? I guess econmics 101 is not a requirement to be a CBR executive. I can't see how home values will go down when the demand is high and fewer units are on the market because the new construction slows down.

I can see how the market would be flooded with homes when the schools are hurt and the reason people move here, the schools, are no longer attractive. Home values should soar according to this paper's line of logic don't you think?
Those taxes sure cover the cost

First of all Youngstown and Mahoning Valley is a product of the Rust Belt and lack of a new economy developing when the steel mills closed decades ago, this comparasion is off base totally.

Second, those ''resources'' I guess they mean property taxes would shrink. Gee those 1.5 kids created by each home seems to be left out of this equation! Resources available with no demand to use them is a head in the sand ideal.

Those ''resources'' each home generates does not seem to cover the cost of educating these kids does it. But these people seem to think they can build their way out of this problem. Building more is the answer.

The Community Authority, (impact fees,) only go to capital improvements, buildings and the like. We are in an operating money hole here. and will be for the next 20 years with the use of TIFS for all new commercial enterprises and uncontrolled housing growth.

Go to New Albanyand Granville, ask them if their schools have been off the ballot because of the impact fees collected. The answer is a resounding NO, they are on the ballot ever two years for money to open new schools and the impact fees have not even covered the total cost of building and these schools either.

Although these fees would be nice to have to help, they do not solve the problem of uncontrolled growth overunning the capacity of and costs to maintain infrastructure, including and especically the schools.
Corruptington, Ohio

Corruptington, Ohio example of corporate greed.
Highlighted by the short sightedness of ?“officials?” that have sold out our community.
