Focus on issues not people???

Just remember someone recently talking about how we needed to focus on issues and not people. Anyone remember that?

Please do seek info

I do trust that you will seek the information on whether all day every other day kindergarten is harmful or better since you attention to detail on most issues has been excellent in the past.
Too bad it has fallen on deaf ears for so long.

If in fact it is found to be harmful, please consider using a portion of the donation to enable the students to receive the benefit of the best situation if that would be half day, every day.

Honestly, you all look like a clown act many times, recently going on the ballot for more buildings when we have ten classrooms at Heritage used as offices or storage.... Asking for an income tax increase because of a massive predicted operating money shortfall that never materialized, and in fact the administration is alleged to have know that the shortfall would not occur prior to the election but chose to say nothing. Promising to return any excess money from the Middle Schools bond issue to the voters.... and then we suck it all up renovating Heritage and other projects. Replacing perfectly safe, functional, flooring in the current Junior High School, at a large cost. I think it was terazzo, by the way, this info came from a Junior High teacher who was disgusted at this waste. This was during the ''spend all the bond money not return it to taxpayers'' days. Yocum even told me personally that I would see very little difference in my tax bill if they returned the money....I guess the principle of the move evaded him at the time, that and many other principles of being a good steward of public money in my view.

I have heard comments from friends that this operating shortfall will evaporate too just like the last one did so they will vote no. I have also heard the opinion of ''why do they have to hire all of these consultants to figure out these realignment and bussing problems, etc, etc, can't they just figure it out themselves?''

Bottom line, I am aware that you may have disagreed with many of the issues above and spoke to it publicly, but unfortunately, it is your legacy because the board is judged as a collective group by the whole community. The ability to become an effective board was unreachable for such a long time. You have a lot of baggage when you approach the community for more money, and it may never go away.
Thanks, Lisa Ross

Lisa,

Thanks for the encouragement to continue to speak out on the issues important to our community and schools. I am well aware some don't like what I say and how I say it. I trust you too are aware some don't like what you say and how you say it.

I am glad to hear your compliment that I do have some good things to say, though I was surprised to learn that you thought I angered Bruce. Lots of things anger, Bruce ... that is a well-known fact in our community.

Keep pushing for him to update the PLSD website with meaningful public information, financial information and board minutes. Thanks for your efforts and encouragement.

'Bunch of Clowns' - Lisa Ross

Brian,

I agree ... stick with issues and not people.

As Lisa Ross stated, the board looks like a bunch of clowns. That is an issue.

In the two decades I have lived here, I have never seen our board look worse. Their 'approval rating' among the voters is nill. No one believes a word they utter. Everyone agrees ... the clowns must go. That is an issue.

November will be cleaning time in the City, Township and School Board. Clowns will not get re-elected. No way.
