I was shocked to learn that the Republican Club of Northwest Fairfield County made candidate endorsements BEFORE some of the candidates had even filed for office and WITHOUT due consideration of all candidates running for an office.

I believe that such a 'sham' endorsement process is an embarrassment to all Republicans and to all members of my club. In addition, it may hurt some of the excellent candidates that were endorsed by such a 'back-room, smoke-filled' process.

Interestingly, one candidate, Lisa Reade (who was endorsed by this sham process) has already been the subject of numerous articles in the media for her poor handling of the Community First group meetings where she banned the media and the public in first several group meetings. It appears she believes the public should not have a voice in the affairs of the community and only a chosen few who share her beliefs have the right to make all the decisions. Any wonder why the last several well-publized Community First meetings drew only a dozen or so folks in a community with over 24,500 registered voters?

With endorsements made even before candidates have filed ... this campaign season should be prove to be most fun!!

stones again

Mark,

I do not like your stone throwing at Lisa Reade. She has had more constructive ideas and energy to put them into action then most of us thrown all together in one basket. She will get my vote because the woman has the energy, enthusiasm and a passion to try to find the middle ground within all these factions in the community. She listens to all sides and tries to make the best of the situation. You may not always agree with her handling and setup of meetings but her energy and enthusiasm to make a difference is unsurpassed. We need that energy on the school board.

As you know, most people in the community will have a short fuse for citizen action for the long haul and meeting attendance will wax and wane as time goes on. You have personally experienced this phenomena. This ussally does not reflect the effort or intentions of the group's overall goals.

Stick with the Issues, Lisa!!

There you go again, Lisa ... throwing stones at people who expressed an opinion on an issue.

Please try to stay focused on the issues. Public information and keeping the public informed is one of the biggest issues facing our school district this fall.

I never questioned Lisa Reade's energy. I only mentioned that Pickerington Times Sun and many on this website blasted her handling of the organizational meetings for Community First. Those were Pickerington Times Sun words ... not mine! The first several meetings of the Community First excluded the public and the media. That's a fact. That's was a huge mistake and was a fatal blow to Community First.

In addition, I blasted a club that would endorse candidates BEFORE they filed for the office. What a sham!

Please, Lisa, stay focused on the issues.

Shadow Government

Lisa,

You may want to revisit the issue of Community First meetings from the many postings on this website.

On 2/13/03, Gary Johnson posted comments under Community NOT . In addition, another individual questioned why only a 'privileged class' of citizens were invited and the rest were excluded from meetings organized by Lisa Reade.

Of course, organizer, Lisa Reade, was blamed for the mess. One individual commented to Reade, ''You lost a big chunk of community support with the way you handled this meeting. I fear your continued ARROGANCE about this matter will only further erode your credibility.''

If elected, will Lisa Reade continue to only invite input from a 'priviledged class' of citizens and continue her arrogance by excluding the public and the media from school board functions and meetings -- maybe as Lisa Ross said with LOTS OF ENERGY? Is this a fair and important issue for this candidate to address?
