Some person anyone tell me why Dave Shaver abstains from the MI issues? When did he build his NEW HOUSE????

The fact that any councilperson abstains from a vote removes that councilperson from the decision making process because they may have a connection with the persons or company that has business with or is the subject of the vote before the council.

What we should be asking is did Dave England and Lou Postage always abstain when it came to properties and zoning votes for William Fannin Builders over the last few years. Remember Dave England (Lou Postage's partner)has been on the Planning and Zoning commission for years.

Remember those that have watched this city council for a few years now didn't see abstentions until David Shaver was elected to council in 2001. Now Lou Postage and Craig Maxey abstain on votes that have direct affect to their employeers or their clients. Lou didn't always do that until some of us found out that England Insurance Company was the bonding company for many of the Fannin Projects.

Instead of asking what Mr. Shaver paid for his house and when you should be asking can Mr. Shaver get that amount out of his house if he were to sell it? The answer is no. If he broke even he would be lucky. The problem that most in the community are having is the falling property values and rising taxes. Instead of trying to get some dirt on David Shaver why not try to understand the poor policies of uncontrolled are having on our housing market.
