I am told that representatives of Wal-Mart had a community meeting this week with area residents about developing a super store at the corner of Refugee and Pickerington Roads.
Are they about to create another Taylor Square here in our own neighborhood. Is a store this size in the best interest of the citizens of the Township and the City of Pickerington?
Does anyone know anything about this development?

yup
I urge you to follow this story. Preliminary talks have been held, I would think most residents would be concerned about traffic among other things, will all the roads be improved and who will pay for it will the area be in a TIF, god I hope not they obviously are her because of the market...we do not need to give anything away but we do need to ask for a lot.
We also need to look East, at one time Tollgate was slated to be the next interchange off I-70 instead of Mink St (Wagram Rd) commercial development in this direction would be a natural if there is an interchange in the future because any SR 33 connector would go here too, The trustees have allowe high end residential subdivisions to be built here, I can just see the NIMBY equation beginning and rightly so.

Circle the Wagons
For years I have been hearing that we want more COMMERCIAL and less RESIDENTIAL developement in our community.
As soon as someone even dares to mention that a commercial entity might consider moving to our area we ''Circle the Wagons''
Which is it folks? Do you want residential or commercial developement?
Why don't YOU buy the land and keep it pristine?
And NO, we do NOT need to TIF this or any other project.
