As I said, I realize this is a forum to "vent." However, when I read posts that are not about "looking for resolution" but just to complain about *everything* and compare it to how things used to be years ago or in other neighborhoods,  that is not a proactive way to find "resolution to issues that haven't been addressed." I read Candy-O's response too before it was deleted and it was childish to me.  Give me a break already, people are still complaining about the gas lease dollar amount and the fence; that is over and done with and we shouldnt be going back and re-hashing how unhappy some people are about it. The gas lease/fence was finalized and worked on by volunteers from our neighborhood, not me, and I am thankful we had representatives who took time out of their busy lives to work on the gas lease agreements becuz I sure didn't.

I was not a part of the gas lease agreements.  Does not affect me.  Was a vote taken by the residents to include the wall?   I believe some residents have issues that either get sweeped under the carpet or addressed with "well get back to you".   I agree that hashing about "old" issues is probably not the best way to be pro-active.   But I also think that when residents pay HOA fee's and have issues,  the HOA should address  those issues whether they are paid elected officials or a volunteers.  I also don't feel sorry for volunteers,   I didn't volunteer them - they volunteered themselves.   You want gratification because you are doing something you volunteered for,  then pat yourself on the back.   True volunteers never want gratitude because they are happy to volunteer....thats why they did in the first place.....and if they better the community,  then they are happy with themselves.   Too many attention-seekers  in the world today and not enough do-ers.
