I dont see a problem with it. It will prevent cars/houses from being hit from the soccar balls.  It will be chain link so from afar you probably wont even be able to see it. Give it a few months and you wont notice it.

I just heard from my neighbors today what is going on with this 12 ft fence.  I am glad I was informed because I haven't received a letter and I haven't seen any signage on Tyne trail.  I believe I do live within 300 ft of this TOWER of a fence that is proposed to be put up --"Anyone up for your children's school playground looking like a prison yard??"  Even if I didn't live within 300 ft what a waste of tax payer's money.  If you think I am going to get used to looking at a 12 foot chain link fence you are very wrong.  I am not angry at anyone on this board but I am not too happy with the school itself.  My neighbor went and spoke to the principal and this fence is being proposed because of O-N-E complaining neighbor.  Did you get that? It's not because of school children kicking balls over the fence during school hours that need protected.  It is the after hours/weekend play of children or adults playing on the soccer field and kicking balls over into this particular yard.  Hey, I wouldn't like it either if balls were being kicked in the direction of my house but to build a 12 foot fence to satisfy one neighbor is absolutely ridiculous.  HELLO MRS PRINCIPAL my neighbors and I here on Tyne do not convey to this.  Obviously, this isn't the solution.  Are these soccer goals necessary?  I know P.E. programs have to adhere to their sports activities but why not get portable pop up nets?  (My neighbors idea and I like it).  Can a large back stop be put up behind the soccer goals to protect this one and only house that is having the problem?  Just how much is a 12 foot chain link fence about 80 yards long?  My guess not too cheap.  WOW I bet the school could spend the taxpayers hard earned money on something more beneficial to the children.  Well my neighbors have asked me and others to join in the fight against this proposed 12 foot fence.  There has got to be a better solution that we ALL can agree on.  I understand there is a petition going around being signed and the Public Hearing to appeal this will be on Weds morning at 10am.  If anyone wants to join your fellow neighbors by adding your signature to this petition let us know and I'll make sure you sign it.  We are going to work together to HELP OUR NEIGHBOR PROTECT HER HOUSE YET FIND A SOLUTION WE CAN ALL AGREE ON. 

In closing, I have learned that only residents living within 300 feet of this proposed fence were notified by the City of Fort Worth.  I feel all residents of River Trails should have been notified since it is everyone's tax money being spent on this fence.  Therefore, there are 2 petitions being passed around -- One for residents within 300 feet and One for ALL residents since we ALL pay taxes.

 I am a River Trails resident that lives across the street from where the proposed fence will be built.  I agree with R.S. that this proposal of a 12 ft fence is both unacceptable and ridiculous.  It appears to me that the school just threw a solution out there without even thinking twice about it.  Good Question, "Exactly how much is a 12 foot fence going to cost?"  I know there are many more solutions that would be way more cost effective than to just build a 12 foot fence.  Besides, even with a 12 foot fence balls are still going to go over it, so what then?   I feel for the neighbor that lives behind the south soccer goal but the school needs to consider more than just her when coming to this solution.  Have they considered the other neighbors that live along Tyne Trail?  Is this what taxpayers want their money spent on that will only benefit 1 person?  Besides, it is mostly people after school and on weekends that are kicking these balls into the neighbor's yard.  I propose the school just take down the South soccer goal.  The school can purchase a portable goal to use when the kids play soccer at recess or as part of the PE curriculum.  Besides, the goals are an eye sore anyway and covered in rust.  So personally I don't think the school is too concerned about the goals.   If people want to play after school and on weekends they can play at the north goal where no resident of River Trails will be affected by flying soccer balls.

 I am getting signatures from all my neighbors that are within the 300 foot boundary of the proposed 12 foot fence.  I am also getting signatures from tax paying residents that oppose this fence.  Please email me and I will get in touch with you to sign the petition.  I am going to the public hearing on this proposal on Wednesday at 10:00am.

Actually,  its a small area that the fence is will be placed.  Homeowners get upset because the ball shoots over the curtain fence into their yards / hits garage / homes etc.   The kids now have to use the baseball back-stop as a goal.   I dont know if the cost is the same for a 12 foot fence but that would look less attractive then the chain-link fence.  Plus,  it would block the view.  It's for the kids - not really a big deal to want to try and stop in IMO.
