River Trails Homeowners Association

I was at the HOA meeting last night at the East Library and noticed a rather low number of attendees. I was wondering why some of you choose not to attend these meetings. I understand if you are working at your job on second shift, that makes sense. But, I'm wondering if there is another reason that so many of us don't attend these meetings. What's your opinion?

From what I understand, there are a few reasons... First, being the HOA isn't mandatory therefor holds no authority. While I will say that Jim seems to be on the right track, the general feeling is that most of the other HOA officers don't really help resolve issues within the neighborhood. I had hopes that this had changed when I saw the rally against the proposed compressor station. Afterward the usual problems of River Trails continue. Second, and more disturbing, is the neighborhood patrol officer seems very distant and detached. He knows the corners the teens hang out on while impeding traffic and disrespect neighbors alike, but doesn't make himself visible. At the end of the day he has committed part of his personal time to River Trails. How much time that really is... Well who knows. My personal opinion is if a large, very visible effort is made, more people would join in.

Wednesday night is a Church night and I work with our youth, that is our priority.

 

I agree with all of the above.  Our NPO is a J.O.K.E. you call him with an issue, like my vehicle being broken into and he says it's gonna get worse until people use their garage...........REALLY!!!!!  What happens if you have 3 or 4 or 5 drivers and cars, and besides it's MY VEHICLE!!!!  Then he says call the Police.....again REALLY!!!!!  What is he and I really, really hope he does't get paid!  The subject of the young vandals...well they aren't "breaking any laws"  they can flip you off and ef you and that's ok, but when I said it's Bull Shit, I was going to be issued a citation, not to mention when the officer finally came out (more than an hour later) he went over after we argued and argued with him and spoke with the kids and we were ade a mockery of, they all had a good laugh!   I lived behind West Hurst for 15 years prior to building here and never had a problem...it's disgusting. I'm going to start calling 911 everytime one of them says ef you or flips me off and tell 911 I have been assaulted!  It is...verbal assault but assault non the less and then I'm gonna ask they be issued a citation, the low life lazy scum bucket parents can pay it!  My children were supervised and did not act like that, not to mention 4 fires...yes 4 FIRES behind my house and the common denomenator the Young Vandals are always in the vicinity!

 

No point in attending a b**** and gripe session when nothing changes.
