Is anyone else as angry with the current leadership in our neighborhood as I am?

Thomas James does not return phone calls.  In fact, when e-mailed he only responds through Neighborhoods plus.  He has created an adversarial relationship between himself and the people whom he is supposed to both represent AND lead!  I'm FURIOUS that this neighborhood HOA appears to be going to hell in a handbasket...

Can someone explain to me, since Mr. James refused to respond to my querry, why he got rid of our pond care company without reason?  ESPECIALLY when it is the only pond care business IN THE STATE?  Has anyone noticed the deterioration of the northwest pond or the southeast pond since he summarilly made this decision?  The geese won't even get in the water.

I am not impressed by this man and his lack of leadership or consideration.

I completely understand your frustration!!!! BUT... I think that Mr. James hasgood intentions. It is my understanding that he volunteered to try to form some sort of leadership/committee to a failing HOA.  Our HOA has gone downhill but I cant blame it on Mr. James. I do think there is a lengthy list of items which need to be addressed by some sort of HOA board. My suggestion is to encourage your neighbors to ATTEND the HOA meeting or I'm afraid things may continue to get worse.

Perhaps we do need better attendence and participation, however, I know several people who have tried to help and participate and have been met by a sealed door.  Mr. James doesn't return phone calls. He doesn't respond cordially to e-mails (if he responds at all it is through a third party i.e. neighborhoods plus). He has thrown out a long term plan in favor of ideas we can't afford and at the expense of the best feature of this neighborhood...the water.

One could argue that the community is the best part of this neighborhood, and I wouldn't disagree, except we have had NO SENSE of community this year.  NO COMMUNICATION, NO CELEBRATIONS or GET-TOGETHERS, NO NEWSLETTER, and the list goes on.  As a previous post noted, that dumpster sat out there with no word of purpose.  The garage sale signs barely got up in time for our garage sale.  As they say...the road to....is paved with GOOD INTENTIONS.

As you stated, perhaps people should attend a meeting, but due to the lack of communication, I don't even know WHEN the meeting or meetings take place and where.  So, if you do, I'd love to be enlightened.

And, let me say, I appreciate your response, and if I seem overly confrontational it is due to the hostility and lack of communication from Mr. James.  I have personally attempted contact and received NO RESPONSE.  I know of others who have had the same problem.  I know of ONE person who received a response and ONLY because she copied Neighborhoods Plus so it was unavoidable.  Even then his response was insufficient and overly abrupt.

He clearly doesn't read these posts or has refused to respond to the numerous issues discussed on this page....so I'm done.  What's the point?

Again, my frustration is not directed towards you, but your response to my original post is definitely legitimate in some ways, but if he says he needs help, but then refuses when it's offered.....that's on him.

I saw that there was an openning on the social chair, and was thinking about filling it, but I couldn't get a hold of anyone to find out info about the position. We just moved here in March, and were looking forward to the events in the neighborhood!
