Towne Lake Garden Association

Last Thursday Haskins Pump Service pull the pump from our well.  The pump was 252' below the surface.  This Monday, June 15th they will perform the geophysical log on our well.  Larry, the manager at Haskins Pump Service feels that our well is probably drilled to around 400' deep.   We will receive confirmation after the geophysical log is completed.

If we are indeed in the Edwards Aquifer, we have already interviewed & agreed to hire a local attorney, Buck Benson to handle the complex part of our issues.

Moving forward we should develop a comprehensive water conservation plan for our entire neighborhood & lake.  I can't help but hear three informercials per day from SAWS about water conservation.  We are not exempt.

Our next, HOA round table meeting is June 30th.  I hope to have Mr. Benson present to discuss our options.

I feel it's too early to discuss monthly fees until we have gone through the due diligence process.   I feel that the collective wisdom of the entire group will do the right thing.

With all due respect, I say to the distinguished gentleman from Towne Lake, the "due diligence process" sounds like minds have already been made up, and this language is a strategic attempt to pacify residents into believing that all options are on the table when in fact they are not. If we want to have open and honest dialogue then we should put all the cards on the table, and not omit the ones some believe will cause a loss of support.

Now, we will have little problem paying the increased assessments. The lake and ducks are why we chose Towne Lake to buy a house. I just don't want to see the ducks suffer because the residents that live off the lake weren't taken seriously.

The topic of water rights have been on the table for over one year.   Any topic is still on the table, but you must have all your duck in a row, because residents have will freely srcutinize you & you will never satisfy everyone.  Would you like to try?  

I am trying, to get you to be open, up front and put all the cards on the table, that is. As for having all our ducks in a row, the only duck absent from the table is assessments, and how they are conveniently omitted from the conversation.

I don't think it's a matter of trying to please everyone because evidently you haven't. The only money being spent is with regard to keeping the lake, and clearly that is indicative of trying to please only those residents that live on the lake or are in support of keeping it because they have been pacified with a years worth of talk about everything being done trying to secure water rights that could possibly take years and millions of dollars to pursue. I hope not, but I fear that those who stand to make so much from the water it would take to keep the lake full would fight tooth and nail to prevent us from having water rights.

As for exploring other options you've left that up to other residents to deal with at their own expense. All I'm saying is let's not pull the wool over anyone's eyes, with all this politician type speech about due diligence and such when really the board is of one mind on the subject of the lake, and is purposefully quelling any attempt to discuss assessments for fear of losing support of keeping the lake by the majority of residents that live off the lake.

The topic of water rights may have been on the table for over a year, and that's why I think it's about time we put the topic of assessments on the table. After all, it's been over a year.
