How much of a toll are they proposing.?  I want to estimate my cost to include in my comments against the toll road.

How much does it help us that Terry Keel is against the toll for the overpass?

To my knowledge Terry Keel is the 2nd Campo BOD to step up and say NO to WC (William Cannon) overpass Toll. He's the 1st one to go public. One other campo BOD called me on the phone and told me he's going to throw a ''*hit fit'' in the news after the Tuesday Kiker Town Hall. There are most probably others. There will be many other campo BOD that will say NO to this portion of the proposal - IF WE get enough people at BOTH of these meetings.

All these guys want to keep their political jobs.

They are estimating a 15 cents per mile for the average toll. Our WC overpass toll is NOT an average length, IT IS VERY VERY Short at 1.5 miles. I also have seen national averages for the cost of collection of tolls at 20 - 25 cents (hiring employees, infrastructure, technology, accounting etc). Some people are saying it will cost 30 - 50 cents to pass the toll one way. We can only guess. And even if they start it out at 30 cents, the rate will only go up.

Don't forget, our tax dollars have already paid for William Cannon overpass! Anyone that want to pay THIS toll simply does not understand that we already paid for it. We are not suckers.

The money they collect will be used to pay for expansion of IH35 and other future tolls.

once the toll is there...it will NEVER go away. And the toll rates will ONLY go up. Tolls are an endless source of revenue that our government will gobble up.
