Broomfield Problem

For BrAnon

BrAnon, I'm glad you put these things in. The further definition of ethics hit on the parts that I've been thinkging of but can't quite articulate.

I have a great book at home on evil (can't remeber the title right now)...
It is fascinating and very enlightening, i read it following the Columbine incident. But the upshot is that pretty much every criminal sees what they did as something they had no choice in doing, or were forced to do, or were justified in doing. THEY don't see it as evil, themselves. They're victims, on the other, hand DO experience it as evil.

Now, I don't want to get all THAT dramatic about this topic. But my point is - they (BFCC) probably do not see what they did as wrong (or unethical)- although we do. And we don't see what we are doing as wrong (or unethical)- but they do. I guess the true definition of right and wrong can only come from society as a whole ... in the context of the times.

(example: some men feel it is their right to beat the daylights out of wife and kids, seriously believe it a right of a husband. Some consider it to be wrong, but do it anyway. Society on the whole, here and now, considers it wrong. This has not always been true. This is not true in some societies today)

I think that what we want is to tell the truth and have society (state of CO) define right or wrong (BF County - to be or not to be). I think we feel they were lied to when making this decision initally.

Also, I, personally, think almost all lies are unethical - even if the goal is well intended - that truth IS right.

What threw me for a loop..Anon left of the part of moral duty and obligation.

This shows me that just as the CC picks with what simulates their thinking; they Anon picked what simulated his thinking. Right and good come with a price tag; the BFCC has forgotten the part of moral duty and obligation to the citizens who elect them. Instead, they have created their own society outside the community; and also their own social code. And who wins? The council and Interlocken. Who pays? The citizens. What is the cost of COPS--no citizen vote; but an outrageous interest rate. Will Interlocken pay this..No; he got his freeway and will relish on increased property values? Senior citizens? Promised them the moon; but the reality is in the numbers; in the feasibility study there is no planned increased in dollars for seniors; from 1998 to 2001. Children? Almost all open space areas are being developed; except that which has been dedicated to Boulder County (cost 6.2 million of citizen taxes); and so far, the Field. So do our children have to enjoy grasses and wildlife from Botanic gardens and traveling pet zoos. If this council has its way. Citizen participant: The ballot question in 96 was a council initiative without a petition; volunteer groups concerned with the community have been sliced in half; those that used to meet once or twice a month; well, the CC controls this; so less volunteers; and only, in some cases, meeting twice a year. Tokens; to meet some level of political correctness. Anon and the CC live in their own narrow world; and feel that the rest of us are big whimps who have not asked permission to express opinions.

The problem for him; he can't axe me like the CC axed the volunteers; the seniors, and the BF electorate; because he doesn't know who I am. And he is going to have a very very hard time finding out. I will let you all know when he does; I am sure I will have home damage, car damage, or threatening phone calls. And, it will be very tough to get the police here so I can file a report.

I, too, am concerned for your safety. I think we are dealing with people who may believe that any action they take to preserve the kingdom is justified. And YOU are the one they will target 1st. And what's just as bad... what if they think they know who you are, but have the wrong person ... geeze. That person doesn't even know what to be watching for.

BrAnon, we value you infinitely. If you have ANY problems like this .... PLEASE let us know. I will pesonally be on the doorsteps of the FBI's office. And I won't let up. If they think I'm dedicated now ... They ain't seen nothin' yet.

Well i picked up my paper today...very nice article in there Chris!! Of course the good old boys are just throwing around a bunch of BS as usual. This Hank Stovall sounds like a real winner too, "We're not going to allow the situation to pass without some attempt to thwart their efforts,(meaning the repeal), Stovall pointed out that the city will be spending a substantial amount of money (more like INTERLOCKEN!) in order to meet the requirements of becoming a county and that someone will have to compensate the city for any damages the repeal effort may cause. "If these folks wish to persist they need to understand there are conswquences." Hmm...feeling a little out of sorts perhaps??? Its funny how its "ok" for them to do what they did to their neighbors but god forbid we should rain on their parade!!
