Hand Picked
My block captain moved to the other side of WS, and hand picked his successor as he left. No call for volunteers, nothing.
Did the Board pick someone they could control to ensure those collected proxies stay in the 90% approval category?
They want volunteers only if they cannot identify a suitable Block Captain.

All righty
Thank you. The list of those who speak the truth grows.
The neighborhood gossips are the grown up version of the neighborhood bullies of our youth. We didn't run then and we will not run now.
Stand up to them and have a great day.

Not Hand Picked
I'm a block captain, are you saying they are controling me. I don't think so! About two years ago, I was the one who kept up with the block captains, but it became to hard to get homeowners to volunteer that I was delivering newsletters to 6 or more streets myself. If you feel this way, I suggest that you get involued.

Definitly Not Hand Picked
I am a block captain because when I moved here almost 2 years ago I was getting my newsletter really late. I mentioned this to Teresa and she asked if I would like to be a block captain.
She did not know me from Adam and I had just moved here.
The board does not control me or any of the other block captains that I know. (I know 4 0r 5)
The reason why most of us do it is probably by default! No one else wants to do it in our area and we figure a short walk with kids once a month won't kill us.
