At about 4:55 P.M. yesterday afternoon, Officer Hambright responded to a call of a burglary of a motor vehicle in the 100 block of Sayles.  Witnesses had observed a 54 year old female enter a vehicle and take a purse.  The witnesses were able to keep the female in sight until police arrival.  She was contacted and admitted to the burglary.  She was also still in possession of the stolen purse.  She was arrested and charged with Burglary of a Motor Vehicle.

This is a good reminder of how important it is to lock your vehicles and keep valuables out of sight.  Most burglary of motor vehicles are a crime of opportunity and the majority of them are vehicles that were left unlocked or valuables left in plain sight.
