instead of defending your child you should get behind the teacher. Hard to put things in the planner if it's not with you. Just another life lesson trying to be taught but the parent takes it as being picked on!

Nomad is SO right.

And no, I'm not a teacher. I am a parent though, and if my child can't remember her planner, then she can face the consequences. Same with all the other ''rules'' people complain about. I always just tell my daughter that it's good preparation for a demanding boss she might have some day.


Bottom line is, our kids have to be responsible, and rules, silly as you might find them, need to be enforced consistently. Give one kid a break, you have to ''bend'' for all of them.

Paying For Bus

mil, if you're paying a bus fee it means that your kids live close enough to school to walk. Why not give it a try?

I will never stand behind a teacher before I stand up for my child!!! A planner is a daily agenda, a simple piece of paper will do. If the teachers start handing out detentions for minor oversights what are they going to do for the kids who are really bad??? It only teaches the kids hey your going to detention anyway, might as well make it count!!! Kids are kids and human too.. We are all allowed one break, one warning. If I worked for someone who handed out pink slips for every small issue without warning I'd find another job!!
