but what if the teacher happens to be right? I realize you don't think they were in this case, and that's fine, but ''I will never stand behind a teacher for I stand up for my child'' isn't going to teach your child anything other than Mom or Dad will always take their side right or wrong.

I wanted to let you know htat the district has a anti-bullying policy that is state mandated. If you truely feel there is a studnet calling names etc. You should:
1. talk with the teacher
2. talk with the principal
3. ask for a complaint or reporting form for bullying.
it the school doesn't have them call the board office at 263-7223 and ask for one.
The district has stated that these written compliants will be taken seriously. Let us know how it turns out.

I called

the principal today and was made aware that other parents have come forward with problems from this child too. He promised that there would be immediate action and there was a zero tolerance policy to this as there would be for you and I in our workplace. I am hoping that something comes of this because our little girls do not need to be called the names that flowed freely from this other childs mouth. I think that kids should be able to look to their teachers and principals for help.

yes they do

hand out detentions in middle school for this. They are really getting strict with detentions, a friends daughter just got an hour for doing the wrong assignment. It makes the kids more responsible by punishing them for forgetfulness, etc.?? Or does it make them want to make the detention worth while? Different issues, different punishments.
