Bigbrother

I think I read it quite well, maybe? LOL

There is no doubt that the owner has not broken any laws. He hasn't. Although he brings the law into question when he brings the home life of a current worker (or a potental new hire) in to question. Should our employers have the right peek in our windows to see what we're doing. I say it may be illegal to even ask. I'm working on checking those facts.

Can we ask the private sexual choices of a person? No. Where's the differance.

Peace

This is the worst

If companies want to NOT allow smoking on their grounds that is fine, if you don't like it go someplace else. If the reason this person is doing this is to save a buck then do this instead of invading the home life. Don't allow your employees to smoke on the grounds and don't pay their insurance while they are smokers if they want the insurance then they will have to pay for it on their own, since the rates are higher for smokers. If they are caught smoking on the grounds then fire them but don't just fire what could be good employees. Help them. Some companies that don't allow smokers help them quit, they give them the patch and or the gum, and any other stop smoking services that there is out there that are proven to work.

What if-

An employee raced motorcycles on weekends? Would that affect his employment? One wrong move could mean instant death.

What if?

This becomes common practice? Look at companies like Walmart, Target, and Postal Service. Look at the money they could save. The cost? Your freedoms.
