Our Next Mayor

Sorry, as requested, I'm not bashing hoppi...just clarifying your points. I think you missed my underlined "coordination", as he was never the only coordinator, as you are trying to make it seem. You also failed to list other businesses and people that helped make the event what it was. If you don't have all the info, then you are misinformed, and that is what I fear has led you to your candidate comments.

"BB, all the aforementioned things were decisions of the owners and not Hoppi.  He carried out their wishes and did it so well they kept him on for so many years."

Didn't really want a debate on the radio station....but he was the manager. Managers carry weight and take responsibility...otherwise he was just a puppet/robot and not a leader, which is how your words are defending him here. (Blame corporate- not onsite management). With that philosophy, a leader does NOT get made....and THAT should speak to you.

Roby has been a successful manager of people and government budgets and is an experienced public servant. Openshaw closed her business. I don't see any qualitative comparisons with Roby's record- which I believe is what you wanted from us. I think that "bad taste in your mouth" is controlling your interest, because you surely can't seem to grasp undeniable facts on qualifications. If one needs more facts, look up hoppi's "platform" back when he tried the state house campaign.

Having said all this, Hoppi IS a great guy, and Openshaw a NICE lady with alot of ideas, although I hardly know her personally. Just her record.

Just one PS, Opie....can you really state hoppi was responsible for all the good that you implied he did at the radio station; and then state that all the bad was corporate's fault?

Now...about those floppy pickles....

No, I know you are not, I appreciate the debate.  Yes I am sure Hoppi had some input to the major decisions of the station but ultimately it was the owners decision.  That is fact.  Does that diminish his leadership of the day to day operations I think not.  As for Miss Roby I cannot speak about her much as I do not know her well enough.  I had that one incident almost ten years ago and I am sure she is a very qualified person for administration and budgets and stuff.  So wouldn't it make more sense for her to stay on the council where those talents can be utilized?  I may be not be enlightened but I do not believe I am misinformed.  BTW I enjoy floppy pickles.
