Classic.  Calling someone a moron while your spelling approaches the level of the functionally illiterate.

Republican,

When dealing with numbers with BS it can be frustrating.

Muscatine City from 2000 to 2010 grew from 22,697 to 22, 886.

That's 189 people or 0.08% growth rate.

Muscatine County from 2000 to 2010 grew from 41,722 to 42,745.

That's  1023 people or 2.45% growth rate.

The increased number of people was 834 more in the county than the city, 5.41 times as many as the city.

The growth rate was 30.6 times higher in the county than the city.

The county grew faster than the city by any measure, which supports your statement that most growth was outside the city limits of Muscatine.

Well, I guess you might look at "growth" that way, but there are other ways.

The city of Muscatine covers about 16 total acres.  The county of Muscatine covers about 449 total acres.   So you might say that the county has a lot more available acres that could be settled by new people.  There is a much higher probability of new "growth" in the area encompassing the county than there is in the area encompassing the city.  In other words, its easier for the county to experience new housing and population growth than it is for the city.

Very much easier as it turns out.   If you look at the population growth per available acre, the city beats the county hands down.  11.8 new people per acre for the city, and 2.28 new people for the county.

It's all in how you look at it.

Why not spend your time debating something more meaningful?

Unless and until the powers to be decide that they will no longer have a City Administrator, any conversation about who would be the one to be a "working" Mayor is irrelevant. If and when the decision is made to have this new working Mayor, we will have a whole new slate of candidates to choose from.
