For Levy Opponents Only

Posted in: PATA
To all of you who voted against the recent school bond levy, why did you vote that way and under what conditions, if any, would you support a bond levy to build more classroom space for our kids in K-6?

Why?

I applaud your desire to get a grip on why the levy was voted down but why not tell us your name?

By the way... I voted for the levy. I always do, the schools are a big part of the reason my family moved here a decade ago.
Bigger question

Isn't the bigger question, ''Why was voter turnout so low?''

What's it take to get people to come out to vote for something important in their community?

There are 93,060 registered voters in Fairfield County & only 33,030 cast ballots. I don't know how many of those are in the school district but I bet the % is consistant.

Schools lost by 3 classrooms of parents that needed to go vote. There were probably at least that many classrooms of parents that didn't vote in every school.
C'mon Here's Your Chance

Come on No voters. You have a unique opportunity here. The School Board will certainly place a bond levy on the next ballot. You folks can have a major influence in setting its terms.

It's compromise time. But you guys have to say what you want. This is as good a place as any to spell that out. The School Board needs your support. What will it take to get it?
