For Levy Opponents Only

Lisa Reade?

Just wondering what Lisa Reade has too do with this. She may not even have read this string, and I know she didn't start it. I did.
Where are the No Voters?

We've heard from only two of you so far. But there are more than 5,000 of you out there, at least some of which must read the postings on this site.

Come on now. We're listening. Please tell us why you voted against the bond levy, and what kind of bond levy, if any, you would support. Our kids need those schools and, if you play your cards right, you probably can set the terms on which they're built.
Assumptions

You may be making an assumption here. How do you know most ''no'' voters can read? What was good enough for great grandpa is good enough for my kids.

Close does count in school levy

The message about Lisa Reade crying is a very valid statement. I have seen her up close seen her let her emotions get out of control and she starts crying and leaves her thinking process at the door.

One of the most critical moments in any levy issue campaign is to contain your comments AFTER the loss and not do or say things that will inflame the voters.

The proponents have lost by a hair. I understand from the paper they said 182. That means that if those in favor of the levy could have turned around 92 voters from a no vote to a yes vote then you would all have your two new schools. That also means that you have narrowed the gap from over a 1,000 voters now to 182. Posting messages that say you didn't think the no voters could read could very well turn some of the progress you have made in the last six months around once again. Now that may help you feel better by publicly venting your frustration but it also may very well piss off some of those recent voters that moved from a no vote to a yes vote. Lisa Reade is a great one to make those stupid statements out of frustration.

I see a number of things moving in the community and in the school district's favor. I think the levy campaign committee should take the week off or maybe the month off and reflect a little. Then get the election results from the BOE and see where they lost. I am sure those precincts that have the highest failure rate might be a good place to start to see if you can determine where you went wrong.

As an example in past elections you could almost draw a line between the losing precincts and the winning precincts and it was also similar to the boundaries of the North and Central High Schools. I think two things that have happened recently that might help the disparity between these two districts in one that the Central Girls Basketball team beat the North Girls basketball team. I know there are those people that are going to scoff at my suggestions but I see that have and have nots issue fading and a small part of the credit can go to the Central Girls Basketball coach, The second factor is the school board making the decision to build their bus repair barn on the North High Campus.

So Lisa (and I know she is checking this web site) don't do anything to show the board's bias against the Central district and their VOTERS.
