It is interesting to note that this 16 year old girl didn?’t tell her parents for almost a year. She was too embarrassed! Then and only after the parents had moved to Dublin did the story finally come out. That was after receiving an anonymous note from probably a local CONCERNED PARENT directing the parent to ask their daughter about the incident. Did this young girl feel safer in Dublin telling her story than she would have here in Pickerington? Is this the very reason people post on this web site with pen names and anonymously? This coach was warned by Forest Yocum about his drinking. Why didn?’t Forest and Lewis Stemen fire him as a coach? The answer is that we have allowed the ATHELTIC BOOSTERS to become so powerful that they control three votes on the school board. I am sure this matter was taken up in an executive session of the PLSD. I am also sure the vote probably went 3 to 2 in favor of slapping this letch on the hand. Man we can?’t ruin the Girl?’s Basketball program.

HOW MANY MORE YOUNG GIRLS ARE TOO AFRAID TO COME FORWARD? DO THE LEADERS OF THIS COMMUNITY FORCE THEM TO ENDURE THESE INDIGNATIES FOR THE SAKE OF A DAMN BASKETBALL PROGRAM?

For those that think just because you have a boy then you are safe of sexual exploitation, think again. There have been other coaches accused of wrong doing with sexual overtones. Are the parents of this school district going to wait until their children are adults themselves before they become concerned? They have not all been MAN over TEENAGE GIRL. I would call a board member today to ask them if there has been other incidents of mis-behavior.

Look at the wonderful teachers we have here in Pickerington. We have a Mayor that is also a teacher. He once commented that to control vandalism, ?“He would lay up in the woods above the park with a high powered rifle.?” He went on to say, ?“he would just wing them but leave them lay until morning.?” Then realizing what his mouth had said those words he said he was just kidding. This was very near the time of the shootings in Colorado. They had a dip of a principle in Colorado also. That school won the state championship in football the following year. They are a very similar community to Pickerington. I am sure the warning signs were there before their shootings.

Now we have a High School Coach accused of improper contact with a student of the opposite sex. Is it appropriate to have an older man hugging and kissing teenage girls not his daughters? Why did the school district allow this man to be behind closed doors with NO FEMALE adult?’s present? Why do they (PLSD BOARD) feel it is required now?

What kind of counseling is Coach Butcher required, to take, to stay the head basketball coach? Is it alcohol related or sensitive training for young girls? Has Coach Butcher ever been stopped by the Pickerington Police Department while driving drunk?

In the mean time Butcher will be sitting at one of the local bars having drinks, bought for him, and shouting, ?“Bring on the virgins!?”

misconduct

A year or two back, there was a meeting in the PAC at the high school for band parents, of which I am. Among upcoming trips, costs, etc, the subject of the ''release'' of a young man hired to assist the percussion section of the badn was announced. It was said that there were rumors of (consensual)misconduct between him and a teen girl in the band. AT which time, the father of this girl stood up and tearfully denied any relationship between his daughter and this teaching aide. He spoke of the degradation of his name and the embarrassment that this has caused his family. I only have one thing to say, she has since graduated from the high school and the girl and her ''teacher'' are now engaged and living out of state. Seems that one will lie about it and the other will swear or in the case of council, SECOND IT.

We have a coach who, at a minimum, is unable to control his drinking around teenage athletes, the same athletes that we demand adhere to a zero tolerance policy concering abuse of chemicals. The school district is also financially strapped and yet we are going to pay to have someone follow this pervert around so he won't molest our daughters.

As punishment for his being a drunk in front our children and fondling our daughters, the most that the school will do is suspend the coach for four games. They won't , however, announce when those games are going to be played. Time for the athletic department to schedule some meaningless games against the four elementary schools.

The fact is, Wes M. is a moral coward. He won't stand up to city council and he won't stand up to the Athletic Boosters. He won't tell the public the truth about Forrest Yocum and his ''treasurer''. The only thing Wes is good for is running this school system into the ground.

If you want the taxpayers to allow you to use our hard earned tax dollars, show us that you stand for something. Otherwise, I would rather have the state come in and manage the school.

It gets even deeper

I heard on the six o'clock news that the state was getting into this investgation of our GREAT basketball coach. They didn't say who and what department of the state was investigating.

Who knows that answer?

I used to visit my uncle farm down near Amanda and he would have the Vet come out and do something to the young bulls. They would stick their heads into a wooden restraint and the Vet would come up to their rear and they would suddenly jump. It only hurt for a second or two. You know after the Vet's visit these steers never had any urge for the young heifers.

Maybe I could recommend my uncle's Vet to the PLSD athletic department.
