Reply to Misconduct
Janine Browning should get her facts straight! Her message titled ''Misconduct'' dated 10-29-02, is like an old can of coffee, ''Chock-full-of-nuts.'' I must ask if you were present at this meeting Janine? Obviously not, as it did not take place in the PAC but in a study room. As for the rumors of ''consensual misconduct'' between this student and a teacher, it was just that; RUMORS!
When I stood to address this issue, I stated that as parents and adults, these rumors, with no basis of fact, was something that need not be spread. I thought grown-ups were better than that; but once again, you have proven (as those originally spreading this lie) that parents will do anything to further their own personal agenda. Thanks to you, an issue that is old news has come to the forefront and not only caused embarrassment and harm to our daughter and our family, but anger and resolve to end this personal bashing once and for all.
You did get one fact correct. My daughter has graduated from high school! But she is not engaged and although the teacher referred to does live out-of-state, he does not live with my daughter! She lives in a dormitory at The University of Miami, in Ohio (which is not out-of-state). I do not know where you got your misinformation, but it is a lie and the spreaders of these rumors and lies are liars, and you can tell them that for me. If these rumors and lies are yours alone, then you are the liar!
As for one lying and another swearing to it, let me tell you this; as an Army Ranger in Vietnam, I live by this creed, ''I don't lie, cheat, or steal, nor do I associate with those who do.'' If everyone practiced this, the liars and rumor spreaders of the world would disappear. As for you stating in the case of ''council,'' SECOND IT.
This is my first option; to demand these lies cease and an apology be forthcoming or my SECOND option will be Council!
No law can mandate class in individuals and unfortunately very few people attain it on their own.
