Indian givers

Posted in: PATA
I see now in the Columbus Dispatch that the PLSD Board is not sure whether the BIA will come through with the promised $225,000. Tom Hart is quoted as saying they never promised the school any money. Was their actions just a dog and pony show? Clearly they wanted to get the Parade of Homes over and now they will leave the community with out regret. We over loaded your school system now it is your problem to fix. We made our money and paid off our bribes so we are free and clear of your school problems.

I also see in yesterday's Dispatch that state governement just cut the Ohio school more that what was expected. So not only do we have a credibility problem with the school board in them once again believing these builders (Remember Sanders and the elem school land in Sycamore Creek). In the over all scheme of things the $600K wasn't make a drop in the bucket but it does point out the eneptness of our school baord and how they made decisions of a ''promise'' once more.

So if the state can't provide the school districts with as much money (Percentage) as they have in the past then we are even further into the hole... The $6.5 Million that this 7.9 mill levy will raise will not last more than a year. So even if we pass the levy in August then we are still broke before the 2004-2005 school year.

What is the use to have sports now that the builders have left town? Clearly the builders have used sports to further their sales promotions for their new homes. Tom Hart and the BIA clearly state that in the the Dispatch today.

In the end this community must fix our own problems and reject this talk of the state or the builders coming in to provide us guidance and money. The state will always be a roller coaster when it comes to providing operating funds to the Ohio schools. Good times we live much higher on the hog. Bad times we can't even get the last ---.

The BIA only care about selling homes. Large builders can very easily bury us in just a few years when given the freedom that the Randy Hughes Mayor term gave us over the last few years. I believe Lou will surpass Randy in just one year in office at his current rate.

We need a recall to remove these office holders that ignore the citizens and their wishes. If we leave them there any longer we will only have a larger problem in two years with bailing ourseleves out of this mess.

Another reason to vote ''NO''

While our school board continues to grab for those ever elusive carrots and city council continues to show the public ''who's boss'' when it comes to slowing homebuilding and the state legislature continues to shows their utter disdain for homeowners & schoolchildren, I refuse to vote ''Yes'' on any PLSD levy - period!

The BIA is first to tout ''Pickerington Schools'' and now they toy with the board and say they never promised any money? OK, who telling the fib here, Mr. Monhollen or Tom Hart? Something smells fishy, but donation or not, I'm voting ''No'' and I know a lot of folks are doing the same. I guess we'll find out if the number of voters with Kindergarten children & kids that play sports outnumber the rest of us.

Are we the BIA's pawns or what?

Tom Hart & CO. are playing this community like a deck of cards. Vote ''No'' and send them all (city hall, V.T. PLSD & BIA, Berry & Co., etc.) another message.

Developer problem solved

What?’s in a NAME?
Now we?’ve got the answer.
All these damn subdivisions and it?’s so tough to come up with their names.
The BIA has resolved the dilemma; they are Indian givers and deserve Indian names.
