Raymond
Raymond has one major negative: She is supported by Mark Uher. Indeed, I have found her to be quite a champion of his, which must be unusual by now in this community.
This has not proven to be a major drawback for Wes Monhollen. Contrary to what some may think, I consider him an outstanding school board president.
It took Wes to get rid of Forrest Yocum. Wes prevented the construction of a $1 million storage shed next to the new junior high school, which would have been a major boondoggle. Wes has insisted on reforms in the school district's transportation policies, which will save hundreds of thousands of dollars this year alone. Wes insists that all new schools in the district be constructed as economically as possible. Wes has insisted that the School Board look at grade reconfiguration as an alternative to building new schools now. And it did not take Wes long to break with Mark.
Raymond, however, has no excuse. She has seen Mark in action, right here on this website in sickening form, and still has taken his assistance and support. In this one respect she has, in my estimation, shown such poor judgment as to override whatever talents she may have.
I'm voting for Reade and Brink as, I suspect, are most people in Pickerington. They will work with Mayor Shaver, with Councilpersons Riggs, Hackworth and Wisniewski, and with the Township Board of Trustees, to stop run-away residential growth, limit the density of new residential construction, and build a strong commercial tax base that will support good schools without exhorbitant tax rates.
Accept no substitutes. Vote for Shaver, Riggs, Hackworth, Wisniewski, Weltlich, Reade and Brink.
