Who will monitor the cameras?

Posted in: Towne Lake Garden

The camera's were set up because of ALL the times the gate was damaged and because of ALL the times people cruise through Town Lake who are either sightseeing or observing houses and families. We have had way too many hit-&-runs, break-ins, etc. not to have some sort of security monitoring system. True, it doesn't look all that pretty, but it is a reminder for people who want to do unpleasant things here that we are watching. Camera's are a way of life now - just as after 9-11, all security changed throughout the US and the world. Do we want to be safer or not?? That is the question you must answer. The BOD (me) pushed this through because I got tired of hearing about car break-ins and vandals. I want Town Lake to be a safe place for us and out kids.  If that bothers some of the people here, then perhaps someone should reevaluate priorities.

Stefanie was not informed of the exact time they were to be installed. Unfortunately, that was a slip form the other Board members.

I do want to thank you for actually getting something done. There is always a lot of talk and not much action.

Is the system set up where we (residents) can get online and watch live feed?

That would be a nice option. I know I can do it with my home system.

Any chance they can correct some of the problems I listed in previous posts?

Also, are the cameras in the island actually hooked up or are they just dummy cameras. You can see the infra-red LEDS on at night on the cameras by the gate and not on the ones on the island. Also, I did not notice where the ground was cut to run wires. just my observations. If they are dummies, we did not do a very good job at making them look real.

Also, it seems to me the headlights at night would be a problem for actually being able to see plates, are we able to read plates on vehicles at night? Have we tested this? Better to figure it out now than after something happens and people cry about spending money on cameras that dont work.

Are there other cameras installed elsewhere too?  I dont see how having a security monitoring system will help if they are at the gates only.
