CRIME REPORT; 03-01-11

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24 hours…

 

At about 4:15 P.M. yesterday afternoon, Officer Bryan stopped a vehicle in the 3500 block of North 6th for an expired registration.  Upon contacting the driver, a 27 year old male, it was found that he had three warrants for his arrest.  He was placed under arrest for these warrants and transported to the Taylor County Jail.

 

At about 9:05 P.M. last night, Officer Herd responded to a shoplifter call at a south side establishment.  Loss prevention personnel had detained two subjects who were caught taking items from the store without paying for them.  Upon arrival Officer Herd contacted a 24 year old female and a 22 year old male.  The female was found to also have a warrant for her arrest.  She was arrested and charged with the warrant, theft and removal of writing.  The male subject was found to have prior convictions for theft so his charges were enhanced to a felony theft and removal of writing.  Both subjects were transported to the Taylor County Jail.

 

Finally at about 12:35 A.M. this morning, Officer Valdez contacted a subject running in the street in the 1100 block of Graham.  The subject, a 24 year old male, was found to be intoxicated and did not know where he was going.  He was placed under arrest for Public Intoxication.

CRIME REPORT; 03-02-11

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24 hours…

 

At about 7:30 P.M. last night, Officer Bryan stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Mulberry.  The driver, a 31 year old female, was found to have two local traffic warrants for her arrest.  She was arrested on these warrants and transported to the Taylor County Jail.

 

At about 8:45 P.M. last night, Officer Walker responded to a call of a Burglary of a Motor Vehicle in progress in the 1900 block of South 1st.  A witness had observed a male subject getting into a vehicle that was advertised for sale at this location.  Upon arrival, a 49 year old male was contacted and stated he was just looking at the vehicle.  He had slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet.  He was found to be intoxicated and was placed under arrest for Public Intoxication.  It did not appear that a burglary had occurred.

 

Finally at about 2:00 A.M. this morning, Sgt. Haak stopped a vehicle in the 900 block of South Clack for failure to maintain a single lane of traffic.  After contacting the occupants, a K-9 was called to the scene and alerted on the vehicle.  During the search a 39 year old female was found to have a useable amount of Marijuana in her pocket.  She was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana.  Also during the search, a 38 year old male was found to have Methamphetamine hidden in his mouth.  He was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

CRIME REPORT; 03-03-11

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24 hours…

 

At about 10:02 P.M. last night, Officer Davis stopped a vehicle for an expired registration in the 200 block of North Jefferson.  After contacting the driver, a 26 year old male, it was found that he did not have insurance either.  Officer Davis was going to issue the driver a citation however, the driver refused to sign the promise to appear and then tried to put the vehicle in gear and drive away.  Instead the driver mistakenly placed the vehicle in neutral and the car would not go.  He was removed from the vehicle and placed under arrest for refusing to sign the promise to appear.  During a search incident to the arrest, a plastic bag containing cocaine was found in his possession.  He was charged with Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

 

At about 11:30 P.M. last night, Officer Romero stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of North Treadaway for failing to stop at a proper point.  Upon contacting the driver, a 30 year old female, she gave consent to search her vehicle.  During this search, officers located a small amount of cocaine.  She was then placed under arrest.  During a search of her purse a useable amount of marijuana was also located.  She was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

 

Finally at about 12:20 A.M. this morning, Officer Washington stopped a vehicle in the 1300 block of North Willis for running a flashing red light.  Upon contacting the driver, a 41 year old female, she appeared to be intoxicated.  She did perform the field sobriety tests and failed.  She was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated.

CRIME REPORT; 03-04-11

 

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24 hours…

 

At about 2:05 P.M. yesterday afternoon, the Abilene Police Department’s Special Operations Division executed a search warrant in the 2400 block of Arrowhead.  A 42 year old female was found to be in possession of over 5 grams of methamphetamine.  She was arrested and charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

 

At about 5:30 P.M. yesterday afternoon, Officer Dixon observed a vehicle traveling in the 500 block of Sayles.  He recognized the driver as an individual who had an invalid driver’s license.  Upon stopping the vehicle, he contacted the driver, a 38 year old male, who did have an invalid driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and charged with Driving While License Invalid.

 

Finally at about 8:10 P.M. last night, Officer Dixon responded to a disturbance call in the 800 block of Barrow.  Upon arrival, a 23 year old male was found inside a vehicle kicking and screaming and using vulgar language.  He climbed out of the vehicle and asked the officer to shoot him.  He then began to approach the officer with clinched fists and continued yelling, using vulgar language.  The officer was able to calm the subject down and placed him in handcuffs.  It was found that he was highly intoxicated.  He was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication and Disorderly Conduct.
