From This Week in Pickerington:
''In other business Monday, the board approved the purchase of a 61.6-acre parcel at the northwest corner of the intersection of Tollgate and Refugee roads. The property is the future site of two of the three schools funded through the $59.9-million bond issue that voters approved in November.
The district had placed $100,000 on a purchase option for the land last spring, and the board's action Monday authorized the district to complete the transaction, paying off the $1.4-million balance.
Money for the land had been included in the November bond package. ''
Funny, I heard the board was offered a much more cost effective deal closer to the heart of the district but refused to meet with those offerors.
Does anyone else have information about an offer made to the district that was ignored but offered savings to the district in the 7-figure range?
