I see where the Pickerington Times Sun has endorsed the gang of four to lead the next city government. A regular poster on this web site has always told us of how wonderful this newspaper is. Since they didn?’t endorse his favorite city office seekers I wonder if he still holds the same opinion.
The Times Sun has endorsed David Shaver for Mayor. This is sometime new for the Times because they normally endorse incumbents. For them to ignore a 20 year member from this city government is a new direction for this paper. Maybe this time the issues were just too much to ignore anymore. I am sure Wes Monhollen still thinks the world of Lou.
They have endorsed Heidi Riggs, Ted Hackworth, and Brian Wisniewski for Pickerington City Council. Clearly these three have been out fighting the growth issue for years now. These four cover all of the demographics and genders. They have no ties to developers or builders and they have a huge support base coming from the local city voters. Clearly they will address the very difficult problems ahead.
The first being our residential growth and how to curtail the road blocks being placed in their way by Joyce Bushman and these lamb duck councilmen (Fox and Maxey). They all refuse to listen to the public. The public wants these housing starts to be slowed down and they are trying to load us all up with debt before they exit council. Those that remain should be recalled if they continue their voting patterns. They want to expand the current sewer plant by 300% which will take 6000 more homes to pay for this expansion.
This will increase the debt to around $37 million.
They refuse to listen to the citizens about referendums and initiatives. They even had Don McTigue there at council meeting tonight trying to get him to take the heat for not allowing the most current set of referendums to be placed on the ballot.
Everyone that is registered in the city must get out on November 4th and vote. If you like the ways things are then put Lou back in office and then try to sell your house. You better work fast because there will be a stampede to get out of here once Lou remains in office.
Even if you think jus electing two of these endorsed candidates above will change things then you are wrong. If you want to change the direction of this city then take it away from Lee Gray and his cronies. If you want change then get out and vote for Riggs, Hackworth, and Wisniewski. That is your only choice. Anything less will doom this school district and the city residents. The choice is yours.
