The land is owned by Ken Newell. He is also the developer for the Lakes of River Trails.

The signs were posted with the cooperation of the owner and under the supervision of Police to ensure they conform to section 30.05 of the Penal Code. The signs are legal and there is no excuse for anyone to say they did not know the property is posted. Police can issue citations and trespass warnings.

I find it interesting as to the posting of the signs. Are they targeting one group in particular, or does this pertain to all who would dare take a stroll around the lakes/ponds/swamps?

The signs are for EVERYONE. You wouldn't want someone taking a stroll around your back yard or around your lake if you had a lake.
