Since90's,  we attended a meeting with our NPO and was hoping that our the neighbor who is responsible for most of the calls to the police would show up too but they elected not too.   A friend of theirs was asked to attend in their  behalf.   The meeting went well and we were thankful to have the chance to meet our NPO and several other neighbors we did not know.   At this meeting,  we asked our NPO if there could be any compromises reached....ie....not riding after a certain time....not entering the fields by this neighbor's house..etc.    However,   this neighbor does not want to compromise and has gone as far as having the No Trespassing signs put up.   We have seen many incorrect accusations made by these people to the police....accusations that have caused tickets being issued to innocent people.  The accusations were made simply because these people owned ATV's.  My family doesn't even own an ATV.   There are riders from all over DFW that come to these fields but folks that live in this neighborhood are the ones getting prosecuted for the crimes.....simply because this neighbor is friends with our NPO and our NPO seems to believe everthing this neighbor says.  Unfair...yes.   Many people have been stopped by the police and citations issued.     And also,  unfortunately,  if Ken Newell is apart of Trinity Industries, LLC which RTHA has written,   then most of the land,  at least the part you need to ride on in order to get out to the trails,  is owned by Trinity Industries.    Unfortunately,  I use to take my kids out there on nature walks and we use to shoot air-soft guns out there too.  Heck,  I helped my kids build forts out there.   They didn't amount to much,  but we had fun doing it.  Listen,  the last thing we want to do is overburden the police with calls regarding people, kids, families taking bike rides,  nature walks,  ATV riders,  dirt bikes,  anything that normal people do because they crossed the "No Trespassing" signs. I personally think it is a shame that one owner in this neighborhood has caused so much trouble for all of us.   It just seems that some sort of compromise could have been reached.   These people have gone above what is right and decent .   And yes,  we will be calling the police on any one we see stepping past those "No Trespassing" signs.   Since our neighbor has purchased and put the "No Trespassing" signs up with help from our NPO,  ..we all must adhere to it and make sure everyone else does too.

Also,  just so you know,  I was serious about our NPO helping with the cross-walk in the back of the school.    I have seen kids waiting to cross and cars just zooming by.  The other day I saw a car zoom across the cross-walk and not but a 5 seconds later,  a kid came barrelling across riding his bike.  If he had rode a little faster - that car would have hit him.  We can teach our children to stop......to wait.....to look....to wait in some cases because people won't let them cross.....we can educate our children....but at the end of the day....they are still just children and do not think like adults.    I have mentioned this to the school before -  that someone needs to be out there before one of our kids gets hit.  I would do it - but I need to be at work by 8:30 am.  I think it would be wonderful if our NPO had spare time -to stand there for a week or so to get our neighbors to SLOW DOWN.  Also,  I was serious about the additional "slow down"  and "speed limit signs".   Does a NPO have to put them up or can a home owner do it? I am sure there are laws to how far from the street.....location....etc the signs must meet.

Obviously, trespassing on someone elses property is illegal. With or without a sign.  "Usually" if the owner doesn't mind and you do not "bother" anyone, the police will not give you a citation. But, if the owner says stay out, the police might give you a ticket. IF you "bother" people with your activities, you might get a ticket. So, stay away from the houses, parks, lakes, roads, ect. Go way down by the river and do not "bother" people. You may or may not get a ticket. But most likely, no one is going to care. Someone got annoyed enough to call the owner and call the cops.  DO NOT ANNOY PEOPLE. Stay far away from the people that you know will call the cops.

 Just my opinion.

Yes,  I agree that trespassing is illegal.  When you say "DO NOT ANNOY PEOPLE",  in  whose terms?  Yours,  your neighbors,  ATV Riders,   Neighbors with kids?  Everyone has their own opinion of what "annoy" means.   It doesn't bother me if kids are riding their motor-cycles in the trails on a Sunday afternoon but obviously it "annoy's" other neighbors and the police have been called.   When you say stay away from houses, parks, lakes, roads ets...are you referring to ATV / dirt bike riders?
