Association Problems

Posted in: Wolf Creek - Bondurant

Unfortunately we all signed something stating we would pay association dues.  Maybe we should get a monthly or quarterly newsletter just keeping us updated about things.  Some areas are upwards of $100 a month for association dues, so I think the dues here are fair.  This was a decision we had to make when we bought our home.  Our realtor, who is very experienced, really explained things to us and did say to expect the dues to raise over time.  We decided to buy here.  There were many other neighborhoods to build in around Bondurant that did not have dues.

I have no problem paying the dues.  We decided to live in a community like this to help keep down the riff raff.  Little did I know that this would become a huge issue and that the road in front of our home would become a race course for cars to drive as fast as they can and run stop signs.  I opp-ted to pay for a place like this because I thought it was the best option for a safe neighborhood for my daughter to play in, and there was a pool ( a bonus).  But now we can't even play in our front yard with out cars flying by like its nascar or backout of our driveway safely because everybody runs the stop signs.  I know that there are many children in the neighborhood and we should take a little bit more care in that.  If we all just follow the rules will will have less problems with everybody.  That is why the rules are there.  Yeah it sucks the pool is closed all the time and it would be nice to have an explanation especially when ya get everybody all sun screened up and walk over to the pool only to find it closed.  Breaks the little ones hearts.  I just hope we can all to get this stuff figured out soon so we can get on and have a happy healthy and safe neighborhood.

We agree about the cars.  There are far too many cars driving too fast and we have a real problem with people parking where the streets curve around.  There are so many blind spots when people park there.  I believe we need to be talking to the city about this.  I want to say there is an ordinance, but I am not 100% sure.

I also agree about the traffic, parking and cars here in Wolf Creek.  This neighborhood is full of young children and we all need to drive with that in mind.  We live on 33rd St. and the posted speed limit is 15 mph.  Cars drive by our house all of the time going 30-35 mph, plus they hardly even slow down at the stop signs.  We have a great place here, so let's all work together and keep it that way.
