au contraire
I was not insulting, merely adding as much converstation to this thread as yourself.
You are paranoid and have no basis for your accusations against the council members you are blasting.
If you have facts to back up your accusations I suggest you post them. Otherwise I'll remain steadfastly convinced that you are paranoid.

Can't please any of them
The question of a city councilman as a retiree with little earned income. Exactly how does the questioner know what someone's income is on council? I sure would like to know if that is public record. I thought income tax returns with the city were confidential. Maybe the questioner is requesting that we go back to the old system of councilmember's getting options on land deals to supplement their council salaries. Now we complain because someone is trying to lower property taxes and that every home owner would benefit from?

Salary
City Councilman's salary is about $7200 per year.
I think they also have benefits.....

Council is not full time pay
Based on the fact that a councilperson receives around $7,200 per year with benefits then you assume that is all of the council person's income for the year.
Now how much does the mayor make? I don't just mean his mayor's salary but his entire income for the year. The fact is you are blowing smoke and you have no idea what the total income is of anybody on council or the mayor's office. Obviously you can find out what they receive in public records for their office but what do you really know about ''earned income''. The fact that someone is retired does that mean they are automatically on Social Security? You made a lot of assumptions in your charges that you can't back up with public record.
